#rpgaday - Day 14

Wow, I am late to the party

Describe a failure that became amazing

Well that would have to be a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st Ed campaign waay back in the day. Back in these days we would meet up on a Saturday (we were scattered across the country) and game from 10ish in the morning until the early hours of Sunday morning. It was a story created (as far as I know) by the GM himself which had us travelling across the Empire after finding a prophecy to do with Solkan (1st Ed fans know who I am talking about). Ultimately we went through a portal, I am still not sure where we went to, and failed miserably with what we were supposed to do. We stopped time or released something that was kinda campaign ending (it was something 2 in the morning and the game just ended. Major deflation with everyone.

This became amazing approx 15 years later when the same GM ran a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Ed game which unknown to us he was interweaving with the game before as our characters were linked back to our original characters and we undid the cataclysmic ending of the original game. This link wasn't obvious at the start and it was only close to the end of the campaign we realised what was going on.

The main credit has to go to the GM and his clever storytelling as the ended with a real sense of completion and accomplishment.

Right that is no 14. I will try and backtrack some of the other 1-3 I will probably combine into one blog entry

The classic 1st Edition
